The Greatest Truth of All

Mulder:

I believe the grey guys are our future,
They will wipe the human race away.
They will take the organs that we have inside,
Strip us of all our pride,
And they will colonise...
Yes, the grey guys’ slaughter
Will change the way earth used to be.


Scully:

Mulder here is searching for the answers,
He just needs something to hold on to.
He never found the sister that that was snatched, you see,
A lonely place to be,
And so he turned his faith to E.B.E’s.


Mulder (defiantly):

I decided long ago
Never to let the Syndicate beat me.
If I fail, if I succeed,
At least I’ll live as I believe,
No matter what they take from me,
They can’t take away my lunacy.


Scully (patiently):

But, FOX, the greatest truth of all
Was implanted in meeeee....
We’ve found the greatest truth of all -
That chip, you see.
The greatest truth of aaaalllll...
Involves no E.B.E’s -
Fed’ral experiments,
They are the greatest truth of all.


Mulder (vindictively):

I believe the grey guys put it in you
They experimented on you, you see
Give it up, your science is a load of bleeeeep...*he looks remorseful*
My arrogance runs too deep
And that is why I am such a creep.


Scully (forgivingly):

I decided long ago
Never to let your punkiness throw me.
If we fail, if we succeed,
At least I know my nuns believe.
No matter what you take from me,
You can’t take away my sanctity...


Mulder and Scully:

Because the greatest truth of all
It is our quest, you see...
We’ll find the greatest truth of all -
Eventually.
The greatest truth of aaaalllll...
Is out there, we believe,
Someday, you can be sure,
We’ll find the greatest truth of all.
